PAWD CONVENTION HELD. Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Acting Administrator Jeci Lapus underscores the importance and urgency of tapping surface water sources like rivers and lakes – as well as harvesting rainfall – as an alternative to groundwater extraction, which he says has been causing our land surface to sink below sea level. This issue was made during a gathering of water districts and other players in the water sector from across the country during the 40^th national convention and exhibition of the Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD) with the theme “Water Districts: Addressing Challenges through Innovations”. The convention was held recently at the SMX Convention Center, MOA, Pasay City.
